Stunning new photos from the Farnborough Airshow

Some more pictures from the airshow taken on a Canon EOS 450D with a very serious lens (technical term).  Thanks to Steven Runnacles of Gennum for providing them, he got some really spectacular shots  and you can nearly see the whites of the pilots eyes in some of them.  These are low res for the internet but if anyone is interested in the full size files please let us know.

L2tek at Farnborough Airshow 2010

L2tek had a grand day out at the Farnborough Airshow on Wednesday, it was a great pleasure to show our appreciation to a number of customers and suppliers.  The day started early for some so we enjoyed a hearty breakfast together before setting off to the show.  As was promised the weather stayed fine all day - a little too fine perhaps as there have been reports of panda eyes and sore bits since, but no-one suffered from dehydration!

These photos were taken on a modest compact digital but if anyone has any photos  of the flying display taken on some of the serious lenses that were around please feel free to send them to tina@l2tek.co.uk and  we'll put them on the blog and give you a  credit.  Click on any photo to see it bigger.

Thanks to all who came along and made it a really fun day.

Farnborough Air Show

L2tek and a group of our customers and suppliers are going to spend the day at Farnborough tomorrow. Unfortunatley we won't be seeing the Dreamliner because that's gone home already! It did however do a fly past with two Spitfires (all powered by Rolls Royce engines) and I managed to get a mobile phone shot from Tweseldown racecourse. Really poor picture but the best I could do.

80 PLUS power supplies

We’re beginning to hear so much more about power saving technology and green power audits on products. Do you design systems with green credentials in mind?

Here are a couple of links that will help out, and some information on the 80 PLUS programme for highly efficient power supplies.

http://www.80plus.org/80what.htm

What is the 80 PLUS specification?

"The 80 PLUS performance specification requires multi-output power supplies in computers and servers to be 80% or greater energy efficient at 20%, 50% and 100% of rated load with a true power factor of 0.9 or greater. This makes an 80 PLUS certified power supply substantially more efficient than typical power supplies and creates a unique market differentiation opportunity for power supply and computer manufacturers."
